Breast Augmentation Surgery

Breast augmentation will give a woman a desired larger breast size. Breast implants may be inserted through incisions under the breast or through the armpit, depending on the wishes of the patient. Silicone gel implants have been shown to be safe and have full FDA Approval. Dr. Godat will make recommendations based on a thorough evaluation and take the time to discuss all options with you.

Breast augmentation surgery is performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia by an MD anesthesiologist. An RN monitors your recovery until you are ready to go home.

Most patients can return to work within a few days. The incision healing time is three weeks. Several weeks may pass for all swelling to resolve and the implants to settle and see desirable results.

Breast augmentation may be performed in conjunction with body contouring surgery or cosmetic surgery of the face. These may discussed with Dr. Godat as well.
