Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia is the enlargement of the glandular tissue of the male breast. Many times the swelling of the breast tissue is due to estrogen and testosterone levels and can affect men of all ages. Cases can vary from rubbery mass underneath the nipple areola, tenderness of breast gland tissue, and excessive breast tissue.

Recovery & Results

Male breast reduction is usually performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. Results should be immediately noticeable to the patient. Patients will experience swelling and soreness following the procedure but the symptoms should subside within a weeks times. Most patients will be able to return to work after this time frame. Bruising will continue for up to 2 weeks and patient should be able to resume normal physical activities with the weeks to follow.
